Jason announces the release of Viva! on DVD

Just taking a quick break from Cinequest to check my other e-mail. I got an e-mail from Anna Biller about the release of her film Viva!, the sexy Indiefest hit a couple of years back. My review is here (near the bottom of the page). And I'll just copy and paste the e-mail from here for you. Wish I could be at the party tonight, but I'm up here in San Jose going to Cinequest:

Please come to a screening of VIVA by Anna Biller, to celebrate the DVD release of this long-awaited film!
Tuesday March 3rd, at 8:00 PM
The Silent Movie Theatre
611 N Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles, 90036 / 323-655-2510

Congratulations to cast, crew, friends and supporters, and hope to see you all there!

VIVA is a highly stylized film that draws on classic exploitation cinema for its look and characters. Saturated to the hilt with vibrant color, and exquisitely detailed in its depiction of the period, VIVA looks like a lost film from the late '60's, even down to the campy and self-assured performances, the big lighting, the plethora of negligées, and the delirious assortment of Salvation Army ashtrays, lamps, fabrics, and bric-a-brac. Whether you're looking for naked people dancing, alcoholic swingers, stylish sex scenes, a sea of polyester, Hammond organ jams, glitzy show numbers, white horses, blondes in the bathtub, gay hairdressers, or psychedelic animation, VIVA has it all!
